Goal for 2010 Event
We're aiming high this year, and we need your help! To reach our goal of
10,000 participants, we're asking each of last year's 5,487 runners and
walkers to bring one new friend to the Run this year. Be part of history
and help make this happen!

Staging
All runners, walkers and strollers line up in their respective event:
1-mile or 5- mile timed and untimed behind the appropriate signs.
Runners first, then walkers and strollers at the end. Please note the
timing signs and be respectful of those who wish to compete at a faster
level.
Chip Timing
Be sure to attach the timing chip to your shoe if participating in the
5-mile timed event or no time will be recorded.
$35.00 charge for un-returned chips.
Survivor/Memory Cards
Be creative and design a back tag to wear proudly at the race to
recognize a loved one who has survived breast cancer or in memory of
someone who lost the battle. The cards are available at bib pick-up and
on race day.
Festivities
Celebrate with your sisters, family and friends before and after the
race! Snow cones, Great Harvest bread, Kaladi coffee, AWWU fresh Alaskan
water, live music, and the awards ceremony honoring runners of all ages
and breast cancer survivor competitors. Make a day of it!

Awards
11:30 a.m. Race Day!
Awards are given to:
Top 15 finishers
Top master’s (age 40+)
Top 5 breast cancer survivors (age graded)
Top master’s breast cancer survivor
(age 40 - 54)
Top senior breast cancer survivor (age 55+)
Overall breast cancer survivor will also be awarded but may or may not
be in the age graded awards.
Top 6 in each age division:
10 & under, 11 - 14, 15 - 18, 19 -24,
25 - 29, 30 – 34, 35 - 39, 40 - 44,
45- 49, 50 - 54, 55 - 59, 60 - 64,
65 - 69, 70 - 74, 75 - 79, and 80+.
Race Results
Race results will be posted throughout the event as well as on this web
site. The Anchorage Daily News will post some results on Sunday.
Breast Cancer Survivors Only
The Quilt Tree has donated a beautiful handmade quilt to be given to a
breast cancer survivor through a random drawing. All breast cancer
survivors participating in the event are eligible to win. Drawing during
awards ceremony.
Honorary Race Starter - Holly Brooks!
We are honored that Alaska's own 2010 U.S. Olympic Ski Team member, Holly Brooks, accepted our invitation to be the honorary race starter at this year's event. Holly placed 2nd overall in the 2009 Run for Women, and will compete again this year.
